The Government of Azad Kashmir, officially the Government of the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, is the state authority of Azad Kashmir, a territory administered by Pakistan. It functions separately from the Pakistani federation as a unitary state with its own executive, judiciary, and legislature. The president of Azad Kashmir serves as the nominal head of state, with real executive authority vested in the prime minister elected by the legislative assembly to serve as head of government, governing the state alongside their appointed cabinet. The Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is the apex court of the state, headed by a chief justice, and it receives appeals from its subordinate High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
